Plain yogurt is a great source of protein but be careful that you aren’t buying a brand which is loaded with sugar. Store-bought yogurt can contain up to 26 grams of sugar in a single serving while the recommended daily total intake of sugar from women is 25 grams and 37.5 grams for men. Always check yogurt for its sugar content. Sugar alcohols are becoming more and more common and do not always show up on the nutritional breakdown. They are however worse for you than sugar and should be avoided.
