Basal cell carcinoma is one the most common and treatable skin cancer types. It is not as serious as the others but should still be checked out by a doctor. About two million people have this kind of skin cancer. It is commonly found on parts of the body that get the most sun exposure. The ears, face and scalp are the first body areas that get the flat lesions on the skin. Carcinoma will be flesh colored, reddish or brown. It may look pearl-colored or waxy as well so look for these signs.
